March 100 Club Winners

Harborough Magna Village Hall 100 Club celebrates both old and new residents of Harborough Magna.

This months 100 Club draw was made by Betty Shadbolt otherwise known as 'Back Lane Betty!'.

Betty grew up in the Vale of Evesham, where she worked in a drapers. She married at 23 and moved to Chipping Campden where her husband was a postman. They had a son and a daughter and Betty began working in a bakery, sometimes in the shop and sometimes driving the delivery van around the villages. She did this work for 35 years before retiring at 60.

She then moved to Back Lane in Harborough Magna where she lived for 7 years with her daughter and son-in-law. She moved into her flat in Primrose Court in 2001. For 21 years she has enjoyed going out for a meal with her friends in the 'Sociables', doing jigsaws, a bit of knitting and embroidery.

She will always give you a wave from her window as you walk through the village!
